5pm start on a Sunday. Got me wondering …
Do concessions sales go up with the early start? Seems like more fans would eat dinner at the Tank.
None of the regulars around me were at the game tonight. Perhaps because there were back-to-back home games. Perhaps it was because of the unusual 5pm Sunday game.
There’s only a few games left until the playoffs and I like what I’m seeing out of the Sharks. I’d prefer they have to fight their way through each remaining game so they head into the playoffs with some bite. There were several notable players tonight:
- Starting with the obvious – Setoguchi has looked great the last couple of games. Glad to see him get rewarded with a couple of goals tonight. I hope he can find some consistency in his game. The kid’s got talent.
- Torrey Mitchell is playing with a lot of confidence and looks speedier. It looks like Todd agrees, playing him alongside Heatley and Marleau tonight.
- Greiss looked good. Good to see. I wasn’t too impressed by his Olympic play.
- It’s good to have Vlasic back. I know, stating the obvious again, but things just feel safer with him out there.
- Great individual effort by Boyle on his goal. We need more of that out of him.
- Malhotra is tough. Playing with a broken nose and nothing protecting his face. Color me impressed. That’s gutsy.
- Thought it was interesting that Clowe was wearing the A tonight rather than Pavelski or even Heatley. Perhaps it’s a reward for his strong play of late. Or maybe he’s a strong presence in the room. Good to know the Sharks have so many leaders in the room these days.
More analysis in future posts. Just wanted to get the first post up to get the ball rolling.
